What are employee physicals?

Employee physicals are designed to keep employees safe and healthy on the job. Many employers are required to ensure that their employees are psychologically and physically fit to perform the responsibilities of their job. In general, physical exams check the patient’s vital signs, pulse, weight, height, reflexes, eyesight, blood pressure, etc. Some exams also require more specific testing, such as drug and alcohol testing, endurance testing, physical strength testing, and psychological testing. Some employers require pre-employment exams, while others require annual assessments.
